BOSTON (AP) – State police are investigating a late-night crash that killed a Hanover man and injured three other people in Boston’s Sumner Tunnel.

Police say a Mercedes 1998 was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck a wall while exiting the tunnel to the Storrow Drive off-ramp.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as 26-year-old Ryan Bartlett.

Three men who were passengers in the car were taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with minor injuries.

The accident happened just before midnight Thursday in the tunnel leading from East Boston to downtown.
