Grange speaker
AUBURN – Members of Androscoggin Pomona Grange will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Danville Junction Grange for a 6 p.m. supper. At 7:30, speaker will be Richard Small, executive director of the Good Shepherd Food-Bank.
A 50/50 raffle and attendance drawing will be held. A business meeting will follow the program. All members and guests are invited.
Time change
AUBURN – New Auburn Seniors changed the time of the regular meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 6, to 11:45 a.m. due to Ash Wednesday.
Seniors to meet
AUBURN – First Auburn Seniors will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the Hasty Community Center. A board meeting will be held at 10 a.m. and regular meeting at 11.
Meal tickets will be on sale for the Valentine party on Wednesday, Feb. 20, Cost is $4.
There will be the monthly raffle table and super bingo will be played. Winners at the Jan. 16 meeting were Dodi Juneau, Lucille Rybeck, Phil Cyr, Frances Robitaille and Annette Lee.
Genealogy topic
LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the Lisbon Historical Society Archivist Museum, MTM Center, 18 School St. The program will be on “Genealogy Regarding Lisbon Historical Society’s Members and Guests.”
Each member and guest is encouraged to bring a family member or photo of a family member and a genealogy of their family to share and add to the archive collection.
The group will celebrate Valentine’s Day and everyone who wears red will have their name in a drawing. Everyone is also being asked to bring an unsigned homemade Valentine to trade. A social will follow. The public is welcome. Admission is free.
Golden agers
AUBURN – The Auburn Catholic Community Golden Age Club will meet again Tuesday, Feb. 12, with dinner starting at noon. The meal will be chicken broccoli Alfredo, bread, coffee and dessert for $4. Call Paula at 576-4082 for reservations or other questions. A meeting will begin at 1 p.m. with pot of gold and break the bank drawings.
The new officers are president, Paula Baril; vice president, Rita Poulin; secretary, Gilda Dennis; treasurer, Lionel Ferland Sr.; correspondence secretary, Helen Franck; membership secretary, Peggy Roy; and attendance secretary, Rita Morin.
Breastfeeding
AUBURN – Expectant women and breastfeeding mothers are invited to the La Leche League meeting to be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 102 Bennett Ave. Babies are welcome.
This month’s discussion titled, “Great Beginnings: Establishing and Maintaining Breastfeeding,” will focus on preparing to nurse baby at birth and adjusting to babies’ changing needs as a family.
All concerns about breastfeeding are welcome for discussion. For breastfeeding help or directions to the meeting, call the La Leche League leader at 782-6645.
Drivers needed
LEEDS – The Rural Community Action Ministry needs volunteer drivers.
Drivers are needed to assist elderly and/or disabled neighbors to get to medical appointments and/or pick up daily living needs.
