WAYNE – Kimberly S. Mercier, 42, of Wayne, died Friday Feb. 1, at her home after a long struggle with cancer.
She was born in Augusta on Aug. 7, 1965, the daughter of Harvey L. and Joanne (Day) Mercier. She attended school in Wayne and was a graduate of Maranacook Community School and Mid State College.
She was an active member of the North Wayne Church. She was employed at Winthrop Family Pediatrics for 20 years, where she leaves many special friends. Kim will be remembered for her kindness, dedication to her work and as a true friend to all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by Tom Pettengill; two daughters, Alicia Pettengill of Wayne and Sarah Pettengill of Wilton; her mother Joanne Mercier of Winthrop; her grandmother Freda Day of Winthrop; sisters Cheryl Stankiewicz of Brunswick and LeeAnne Mercier of Auburn; brothers Craig Mercier of Virginia and Scott Mercier of Lewiston; one very special granddaughter, Jacie of Wayne; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Harvey Mercier; brother, Pete Mercier; and grandfather, Everett “Dad” Day.
