Lewiston – Roger E. Curtis, 71, a resident of Curtis Drive in Leeds, died late Saturday night, Feb.2, at Central Maine Medical Center where he had been a patient.

He was born on Sept. 23, 1936, in Leeds, the son of Roscoe J. and Lola L. (Tibbetts) Curtis. He went to school in Leeds. On Sept. 7, 1959, in Monmouth, he married Claudette Wallace of Leeds.

He worked as a self-employed woodsman, carpenter, mechanic and landscaper, and he had also worked for the town of Leeds.

He enjoyed four-wheeling, hunting, Nascar and driving in the stock car races at Oxford Plains Speedway.

He is survived by his wife Claudette of Leeds; two sons, Rodney Curtis and his wife, Wanda, of Monmouth and Randy Curtis and his wife, Krista, of Leeds; two daughters, Audrey Bonner and her husband, John, of Leeds and Rebecca Labbe and her fiancé, Timothy Haley, of Leeds; 11 grandchildren, Alex, Emily, Ashley, Brittnay, Courtney and Randi Dawn Curtis, Travis and Ryan Dalessandro, Tyler Hish and Amber and Curtis Labbe; a great-grandson, Cameron Dalessandro; his aunt Margaret Walker of Bethel; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Robert Curtis; and his sister, Jacqueline Grover.
