DIXFIELD – A SAD 21 school bus and a sports utility vehicle collided Monday morning damaging both vehicles. There were no injuries.

Police Chief Richard Pickett said a 2005 Bluebird school bus driven by Nathan Storer, 59, of Weld, sideswiped a 2002 Toyota Forerunner SUV owned by Trinity Wilson, 31, of Averill Hill Road, while Wilson’s vehicle was parked at the end of the circular driveway at Dixfield Elementary School.

As Storer was turning onto Nash Street from the school’s driveway, the rear of the bus hit the driver’s side of Wilson’s vehicle causing an estimated $1,500 to $2,000 damage. Wilson was not in the vehicle.

Pickett said Storer had just dropped off elementary pupils at the school and was on his way to Dirigo Middle School. Two middle school children were in the bus, but no one was hurt.

Pickett estimated damage to the bus at about $500.
