TURNER – Turner Democrats will hold a presidential preference caucus at 1 p.m. Sunday at the town office at the junction of routes 4 and 117.

The registrar of voters will be available from 12:30 to 1 p.m. to register new voters and change enrollments. The registrar will not have absentee ballots at the caucus.

Included in the caucus agenda are elections of town Democratic officers and choosing representatives to the Androscoggin County Committee. Convener Kenneth Roberts said participation from all interested town Democrats is welcome and they can look forward to meeting local candidates and hearing from candidates or their supporters. A video by U.S. Rep. Tom Allen, D-Maine, a candidate for the U.S. Senate, will be shown.

At 1:30 p.m. the presidential preference voting will begin, with Democrats physically gathering in separate areas of the meeting room with like-minded supporters of individual candidates. The number of supporters present and standing for each candidate will determine that candidate’s number of delegates to the state convention.

Absentee ballots are available from State Democratic Party headquarters by calling (207)-622-6233, and must be returned to the state office by 5 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 6.
