MEXICO – Police Sgt. Roy Hodsdon has filed an Amber Alert and a missing child alert with the National Criminal Institute Center and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in an effort to find two young girls who were taken from their legal guardian in Mexico.

A criminal restraint charge was lodged against their mother, Nicole Belskis of Mexico, because she took the 1- and 2-year-old girls to their father, Luke Jones, who is believed to live in Arkansas.

Belskis, 23, was arrested on Jan. 7 on the felony criminal restraint charge. She has since been bailed from the Oxford County Jail. Hodsdon said her case is expected to be among those the grand jury is scheduled to hear later this week.

The two girls, Adriana and Briana, have been missing from their grandmother’s home since Dec. 29.

Hodsdon is working with the Oxford County district attorney to draft a warrant for the arrest of Jones on a felony criminal restraint charge. He’s also working to return the children to Mexico from Arkansas.

Posting the Amber Alert places a priority on finding the toddlers with law enforcement agencies.
