For all of us, it seems as though the amount of homework given each night has been significantly growing over the past few years. Are you stressing out? Do you need a break but just cannot seem to find the time? Well, take just a few minutes and try these handy-dandy tips, courtesy of TeensHealth Online, a division of the Nemours Foundation. The research from the Nemours Foundation recommends the following three tips to help you beat this homework press once and for all.

1. Get organized. Research and studies have found that the mind is at ease in a slightly cooler, quiet, stress-free, organized environment. Therefore, it is best to keep a planner for which you should write down the assignments, a well-structured homework schedule for which you should follow daily, and straighten up your cluttered room before beginning any homework assignments. This cleaning and organizing will also work off any headaches from that long, tiring school day.

2. Be mindful of your work environment. If you are in a room where your siblings are fighting, the music is blaring, and/or the television is rambling; it is recommended that you move to a quieter environment to study, where nothing will disturb, distract, or preoccupy your concentration. This way, you will be able to work as productively as possible.

3. Finally, remember to take frequent breaks. These breaks can simply be water or snack breaks every fifteen to thirty minutes per hour. However, you may also take a quick power nap, which in this case, would be the best thing for you. A thirty-minute power nap would increase your concentration, rejuvenate your energy, and banish any headaches that you have plaguing your brain. But remember not to sleep past thirty minutes. Excess sleep may cause you to keep awake during the night or worse, keep you from your time doing your homework.

Therefore, keep these tips in mind for whenever you are slammed with a ton of homework. These tips just might cut down your amount of time spent on homework and studying each night.
