“This is over” I thought when Boston College was losing in the fourth quarter of the game. The Eagles were down by ten with less then a minute left in the game. This would be BC’s first loss if they couldn’t score more then ten points.
Their senior quarterback, Matt Ryan wasn’t feeling good, but still put all his effort into the game. He brought his team all the way down the field to score a touchdown that only brought them down by three. They still had to get the ball back less then 30 seconds left in the game. The Eagles didn’t put their starting kicker in, but their second string kicker due to injures. He kicked right to the hookies receiving team.
“Oh my!” The commentator yelled on TV.
Boston College had just got the ball back after it hit off a honkie player and BC jumped on it. Now it was up to Matt Ryan again, the quarterback that wasn’t feeling good would have to bring up his team’s spirit and win this one. Being at an opponent’s stadium is one of the hardest things to do, march down the field.
Matt Ryan started to march his team down the field at the their own 40 yard line. He would need of his team mates, the offensive line, wide recievers, tailbacks, and even himself. Ryan kept completing passes to his receivers, that got out of bounds. The Eagles got all the way down inside the 20 yard line.
“Ryan drops back, 10 seconds left!” The commentator yells. “He is being pressured, he runs to his left and he is going to throw across his body to his right. Andre Calendar wide open. Touchdown!”
Matt Ryan had did one of the hardest things a QB can do, throw across your body while running. It was about a 15 yard pass. Ryan had done it again, saved his team from losing. With 3 seconds left the hookies could not do anything.
The Eagles have now dropped to 8-2 since that game. They will have to fight to keep it that way so they can win the ACC championship.
