Last fall, Monmouth Academy welcomed all new freshmen as well as teachers. One of those teachers is Mr. Adam Spillman. Among the other teachers, he is one of the newest. This will make his second year at Monmouth Academy. Mr. Spillman teaches English, Writing, and helps out in the Special Education Department.

As a young child, Mr. Spillman started school in Mississippi. He then moved to Maine when he was five years old and attended Winthrop schools. For his junior and senior years of high school, he went to Kents Hill School. During his school years, he played Lacrosse, golf, and football (for one year). He was also on the ski team.

To become an English teacher, Mr. Spillman went to Gettysburg College. He majored in English, Philosophy, and Writing.

But, before hanging out, you have to make the big bucks. Mr. Spillman works two jobs: as a teacher and at Marguerita’s – that should do the trick.

Being an English and Writing Lab teacher, a helper and a guy who works at Marguerita’s, Mr. Spillman is obviously a hard worker. Along with that comes being a nice and caring guy who will listen. Now that, my friend, is a Happy Meal – but in English “writing” terms…
