STONEHAM – F. Stanley Gammon of Stoneham died unexpectedly at his home Feb. 6.
He was born Feb. 9, 1929, at Norway Lake, the son of Frank and Hannah Alice (Field) Gammon.
Stan graduated from Norway High School in the class of 1949. Each morning before school, he drove a milk delivery route throughout town. After graduation, he drove truck for the Suburban Propane Co. from Vermont to New York and Chicago. He worked as a pipe liner in Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma. He then worked on the oil pipe line from Pennsylvania to Montreal, later working on building state highways and interstates in Vermont. Before retiring, he worked for the P.H. Chadbourne Lumber Co. for 18 years.
He married Priscilla Grover-Mullen in Otisfield on July 17, 1982. They made their home in West Stoneham. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping with his friends.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Priscilla; one stepson, James Mullen of Naples, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Ann Mullen of Norway; one granddaughter, Danielle David of Norway; and one sister, Evelyn Gammon of Norway.
He was predeceased by his parents.
