LEWISTON – “Smashed,” an underage drinking awareness film, will be shown at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, in Callahan Hall at the Lewiston Public Library.
The film, which recently was approved for use in driver’s education courses throughout Maine, will be shown at no charge.
Following the 25-minute viewing, a panel of Lewiston Youth Advisory Council members will be on hand to talk about why “Smashed” was made, what the film’s goal is and what the filming experience was like.
The movie was filmed as part of the youth council’s U BOOZE U LOOZE peer-to-peer underage drinking awareness campaign and was professionally filmed with a grant from the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety.
It features reflections of what led up to the death of a friend who was drinking and decided to get into a car with a driver who was also drinking.
