FARMINGTON – An Industry man pleaded guilty Thursday to three charges involving a teenage girl in a plea agreement that dismissed three others, including two sex-related charges he was indicted on last year.
Stephen Wing, 30, pleaded guilty to a felony charge of aggravated criminal trespass and misdemeanor charges of assault and stalking, his attorney, Walt McKee, said after leaving judge’s chambers with Wing at Franklin County Superior Court.
The charges dismissed by state prosecutors were felony burglary, attempted gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact, McKee said.
The plea was heard in chambers because potential jurors waited to be picked for upcoming trials in the courtroom.
Wing will be sentenced in a couple of weeks, McKee said.
Assistant District Attorney Andrew Robinson was busy in court all day and unavailable to comment on if there is a cap on sentencing or why the other charges were dismissed.
Wing was accused by police in September 2007 of climbing through a window into a residence and attempting to sexually assault a teenager in her bedroom.
Wing had stopped by the family’s residence, a building he owns and rents to them, and learned the girl was sick, Robinson said last year in court.
Her parents later left the home after locking the door to get her prescription medication, he said then.
They were on their way to the drugstore and remembered they forgot the prescription and returned home, Robinson had said.
When they arrived there, the parents could see that a chair had been put under a window outside their residence and could hear their daughter yelling, Robinson said.
