Center Street in Auburn is, and always has been, very dangerous to the public. The last reconstruction added a concrete turning lane in the center of the highway. I do recall a statement made then that if the turn lane did not work as expected that a concrete barrier would be installed.

I know first-hand that the intersection of Turner Street, Center Street and the Union Street Bypass is very dangerous. Reconstruction of this highway is long overdue, and we need to leave it up to the engineers to find the solution.

The opponents to the new plan seem to be missing a point. The roadway needs to be rebuilt so that it is safe for the traveling public.

That is the only thing that is important.
