LEWISTON – The Lewiston Jr. Maineiacs Squirt Travel hockey team finished its regular season atr 12-6-4, good for third in its 12-team league, after a win and a tie in recent action.

Lewiston blanked the Maine Jr. Black Bears by a 4-0 tally on the strength of Kyle Welsh’s shutout in goal.

Kyle Morin scored two goals to help the Jr. Maineiacs pull away. Jacob Charest notched a goal and an assist, with Luc Dostie also scoring a goal. Cody Woodward handed out three assists, with one each by Mikaela Brown and Ryley Austin.

The Maineiacs also rallied for a 2-2 tie with Biddeford. Trailing by a pair entering the third period, Lewiston fought back with a goal by Austin from Reid Pomerleau and Dostie. Austin setup Kyle Ullrich for the equalizer. Sam Zashut was a standout between the pipes.

Lewiston now readies for the state tournament.
