JAY – Police and firefighters responded to a report of a bomb threat Tuesday at Jay High School about a half-hour before students were dismissed for the day, police Cpl. Jeffrey Fournier said.

The threat was found on a calculator by a student, Fournier said, but declined to say what the wording was due to the ongoing investigation.

Police received the call at 1:30 p.m. High school students were evacuated to the middle school for a brief time, he said, and were able to return after the area was found to be clear of a bomb, Fournier said.

It is the second time in less than three weeks that a bomb threat was reported at the school. The other threat also appeared on a calculator. A 17-year-old student was arrested on a terrorizing charge in the Jan. 25 case.

Fournier said officer Stephen Wilkinson is the primary investigator and both were conducting interviews and trying to determine potential suspects.

Whoever is responsible faces a terrorizing charge, Fournier said.
