RUMFORD – A Mass of Christian Burial for Everett C. “Ike” Dawson was celebrated Thursday at St. Athanasius-St. John Catholic Church. The Rev. Angelo LeVasseur was the celebrant. George Gionet was the altar server and Mark Belanger was the organist. Music selections were “Ave Maria,” “Amazing Grace,” “You Raise Me Up” and “Wind Beneath My Wings.” Readings were done by his granddaughter Dawn Maceda and nephew Greg Dawson. The eulogy was given by his niece Jolene Lovejoy. Pallbearers were Steve Dawson, Greg Dawson, Aaron Dawson, Brian Dawson, Mike Maceda and Eric Mulkern. Spring interment will be in St. John Cemetery. A reception followed in the parish hall. Military honors were provided by the Maine Military Funeral Honors Program. Relatives and friends can pay tribute to Ike at www.mem.com.
