CHESTERVILLE – A Valentine’s Day meal and entertainment was offered to area seniors Thursday at the Chesterville Town Hall.
About 30 area people gathered for a home-cooked turkey dinner, music and bingo.
The event, a community service project sponsored by the North Chesterville Homemakers Extension, was planned to provide a special day for seniors who have been in all winter, said organizer and cook Glenda Barker.
“It’s a break for everyone,” she said. The meal was offered free, and with the response, she thought they might do a lunch more often.
A four-member group, Silv’ry Seasons, was there to play some old-time, toe-tapping music.
