Waterford – Robert A. ‘Bob’ Holsinger, of Waterford, originally from Horrell, Pa., passed away on Friday, Feb. 15, at his home.

He was born in Roaring Springs, Pa., on April 19, 1944, the son of Charles Christ and Edna Effie Holsinger.

Robert was barely 17 years old when he joined the U.S. Navy. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps four years later.

He attended the Pennsylvania Police Academy and became a police officer for the town of Wind Gap Borough, Pa. He was injured on the job in 1977, and had been disabled since that time. He had been a 39 year-member of the American Legion Post 724 in Wind Gap, Pa.

Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman. He belonged to The Biggest Bucks in Maine Club, the State of Maine Black Bear Club and was a life member of The National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Beth; son, Eric; daughter-in-law, Jennifer; and grandson, Delsin, of Saco; daughter, Denette; and son-in-law, Scott Tirell of South Portland. He is also survived by two special nephews, Rodney of York and Donald Holsinger and their families of Hollidaysburg, Pa.; and several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, James Edward Albright and Charles Holsinger; and his sister, Marjorie May Holsinger.
