AUBURN – Four men were arrested in connection with two separate fights at Midnight Special on Court Street late Saturday night.

Police responded to one call for a group of men fighting after they had been kicked out of the bar. When police arrived, the men stopped arguing among themselves and began arguing with police, officer Gary Boulet said.

Boulet said police gave the men several chances to leave, but when they refused, three were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

They are Travis John Moreau, of Gray, Tyler Hamilton and Walker Hamilton, both from New Gloucester.

Police left after arresting the men.

No more than 5 or 10 minutes later, another fight broke out between two men. Boulet said that fight started when a couple who were dancing bumped into one of the men.

Fists were thrown and bottles were smashed. Although both men claimed the other started the fight, only one, Glenn Ruiz, 32, of California, was arrested and charged with assault.

Boulet said Ruiz was “flipping out,” and punching the victim, Christopher Burns, 26, of Auburn,

Burns also hit Ruiz with a beer bottle, Boulet said.

Both men were treated for cuts and bruises. Burns was treated at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston; Ruiz was treated at Saint Mary’s Regional Hospital, also in Lewiston.
