Brunswick – Laura L. Bancroft, 82, formerly of South Portland, died on Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Mid-Coast Senior Center in Brunswick.
She was born in Eastport, the daughter of Calvin and Carrie (Renouff) Logan. She was educated in Eastport and South Portland schools.
She was a communicant of Holy Cross Church in South Portland. She married Gerald K. Bancroft on Dec. 10, 1942.
Her family was her biggest enjoyment in life.
Survivors include her two daughters, Patricia B. Renshaw of Brunswick and Garaldene A. Bancroft of Poland; son, Calvin A. Bancroft of Spring, Texas; eight grandchildren, Timothy, Todd, Kelley, Victoria, Katie, Christian, Logan and Kendal; 11 great-grandchildren, Carrie, Megan, Riley, Alexander, Collin, Nicholas, Haley, Molly, Hannah, Eric and Faith; sister, Olivia Hamilton of Falmouth; along with many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband, Gerald K. “Jerry” Bancroft, on Dec. 19, 2001; and two sisters, Norma Montpelier of Florida and Elizabeth Wuenschel of Pennsylvania.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at The Stevens Home for the loving care given to the Bancroft family the past two years.
