FARMINGTON – Issues facing the community and schools will be addressed by candidates for selectmen and school board.

The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a public forum at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at the Farmington Community Center.

Two positions are available on the Board of Selectmen. Each position is a three-year term.

Four candidates are running for the two positions. Selectman Jon Bubier, elected last year to complete another term, has opted to run again. Other candidates include Nancy Porter, Ryan Morgan and Robert Vallette.

Two candidates are running for the SAD 9 board seat being vacated by Joyce Morton who has served for 10 years. Morton will continue serving on the Mallett School building committee, she said on Monday.

Robert Flick and Claire Andrews are running for the seat.

During the forum, each candidate will be given three minutes for an opening statement. A moderator will then take audience questions, written on note cards, for an hour. Each candidate will then have three minutes to respond to the questions and three minutes for a closing statement.

Some questions will be prepared in advance in case the audience doesn’t offer enough questions. People are invited to attend and ask questions of the candidates.
