AUBURN – Lorraine G. Collins, 74, of Durham, died Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Hospice House.

She was born in Oxford, Oct. 5, 1933, the daughter of Howard and Ruby Smith Tripp. She attended schools in Oxford and Poland. She was a homemaker and mother. She also worked with her husband in the family business. On March 1, 1957, she married Walter Collins, who died Nov. 5, 2002.

Survivors include her five children, Diana Gordon and her husband, Dwayne, Donna Marchesseault and her husband, Michael, Carol Brown and her husband, Christopher, Harold Collins and his wife, Charlene and Timmy Collins; grandchildren, Suzi Carro, Beth Marchesseault, Chad Marchesseault, Roy Brown, Justin Brown, Carlton Spraque, Harold Collins Jr., Crystal Collins, Walter Collins, Christina Collins and Eric Collins; great-grandchildren, Joey Billings, Tina Billings, Allyson Friend, Darcie Morgan, Mitchell Morgan and Tyler Durgan; brothers and sisters, Kay Rand, Bobby Tripp, Gloria Austin, David Tripp, Mary Austin and Paul Tripp.

She was predeceased by an infant son; two sisters, June Grant and Joanne McInnis; and two brothers, George and Linwood Tripp.

The family would like to thank the hospitalists and nusres at CMMC, Dr. Leighton, Dr. Verrill and Dr. Dickens who were so very wonderful to the family and Lorraine during her illness. Much love and many thanks to the Hospice House, employees, volunteers and Dr. Austin.
