PARIS – A 70-year-old Hebron woman remained in critical condition at a Lewiston hospital Monday, struggling to recuperate from injuries suffered in a Feb. 5 wreck that sent she and her husband to the hospital.

Elsie Bellavance, 70, of Station Road, remained at Central Maine Medical Center. Her husband, Robert, 72, has been discharged, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

The couple were driving on Route 119 toward Hebron when Albert Smith, 32, of Turner lost control of his Dodge pickup truck, slid across the snowy center line and was broadsided by the Bellavance truck.

The accident is under investigation by Lt. Michael Dailey, who was not available for comment Monday.
