RUMFORD – Mariette J. St. Cyr, 84, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, at her residence on Swain Road.

She was born in Rumford on Oct. 7, 1923, a daughter of Emile and Marie Ange (Carignan) Poisson and graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford, Class 1942.

She was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John Church. She enjoyed gardening, hiking, berrying and loved spending time with her family.

She was married in Rumford on Jan. 17, 1944 to Loren Elliot St. Cyr, who died in Lewiston on June 25, 2005.

Survivors include six daughters, Suzanne Susbury and husband, Bill, of Raymond, Mary Kenney of Los Angeles, Calif., Charlene Warren and husband, Michael, of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Elaine Herbert and husband, Don, of Topsham, Brenda Ledue and husband, Andy, of Scarborough and Janine Bouchey and husband, Alan, of Standish; five sons, Gerard St. Cyr and wife, Shirley, of Howland, Marshall St. Cyr and wife, Sheila, of Newcastle, Jim St. Cyr and wife, Christine, of Rumford, Mark St. Cyr of Rumford and Stephen St. Cyr and wife, Grace, of Newcastle; 32 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was predeceased by four daughters, Sharon Payne, Monica and Lisa St. Cyr and Sheila Payeur; a son, Peter St. Cyr; two granddaughters, Rene St. Cyr and baby girl, Martin; three sisters, Louise Brennick, Geraldine McCarthy and Jeanne Frothingham; and a brother, Gerard Fisher.
