PARIS – Four people pleaded guilty to drug charges Thursday, including a husband and wife accused of having 95 pounds of marijuana in their home.

Dwayne Bonney, 47, and Debbie Bonney, 44, both of 73 Bisco Road in Paris, appeared in court together to plead guilty to Class B trafficking and Class E unlawful possession of diazepam.

The pleas, which took place at Oxford County Superior Court before Justice Carl Bradford, were to charges filed last year. According to affidavits by Agent Zane Loper of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, police sought to search the residence for evidence of perpetrators in a home invasion on Feb. 1, 2007, in which both Dwayne and Debbie were assaulted.

Loper states that the Bonneys were opposed to the search. Loper requested a separate search warrant on the same day after discovering marijuana and associated paraphernalia, including a scale and sandwich bags, in the residence.

Dwayne had prior trafficking convictions in 1978 and 1996.

Assistant Attorney General David Fisher said the matter will be continued to March 27 for sentencing.
