CROYDON, N.H. (AP) – A logging skidder driver is recovering after his vehicle flipped off an icy bridge and crashed upsidedown through ice into the Sugar River in Croydon.

An excavator brought in to remove the skidder on Tuesday also slid off the small bridge and landed on top of the skidder.

Witnesses said the skidder driver, 42-year-old Arthur Cutter, kicked out the door and broke through ice to escape. He was taken to the hospital with hypothermia and a concussion.

The skidder ended up submerged in about 10 feet of water.
