KINGFIELD – SAD 58 directors unanimously voted Wednesday night to send a proposed plan to consolidate five towns in that district with 11 other communities out for legal review, Superintendent Quenten Clark said Thursday.

SAD 9 directors voted to do the same Feb. 12 on behalf of the nine towns in that district.

Coplin and Highland plantation school boards are expected to do the same.

They are working together to establish a Western Mountains regional school district as required by state law.

The school systems are using separate law firms to review the plan to protect against potential conflicts of interest.
