AUBURN – Roberta Grant Smith, 87, of Oxford passed away at Clover Manor on Friday, Feb. 22.

She was born in Lewiston on Oct. 21, 1920, the daughter of Percy and Capitola Rowe Grant. She grew up in Mechanic Falls and graduated from Mechanic Falls High School in 1939.

She married the love of her life, Norman Smith Sr., on Aug. 3, 1940. He passed away on April 11, 2001. She was employed by and retired from Robinson Manufacturing in Oxford. She was a member of the Oxford Advent Christian Church. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, boating, gardening, spending time at camp on Aziscohos Lake, serving the Lord, and most of all spending time with her family playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Although she will truly be missed by her family, we know that she is now at peace, rejoined with her husband, her best friend, her soul mate.

She is survived by her four sons, Norman Jr., and his companion, Sharon Martel, of Oxford, Carl and his wife, Elaine, of Hollis, Ralph and his wife, Cathi, of Mechanic Falls and Dana and his companion, Eilleen, of Tamworth, N.H.; nine grandchildren, Kevin, Bobbi, Scott, Dawn, Brian, Tracy, Tisha, Tobey and Danyelle; 11 great-grandchildren; and another joining the family this year; one great-great-granddaughter; a brother, Percy, and his wife, Joanne, residing in Florida; and a sister, Florence Mitchell, residing in Poland.

She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Goss of Poland.

The family would like to thank the staff at Clover Manor for the care they gave Roberta over the last year and a half.
