LEWISTON – The Lewiston CareerCenter announces the March workshop schedule and speakers for the Lewiston/Auburn Area Unemployed Professional Group.
The CareerCenter hosts the group every Monday from 1-4 p.m. The group provides support, resources, and networking opportunities for unemployed and underemployed professionals while providing employers with a talent pool from which to recruit and hire.
Upcoming program topics are as follows:
March 3, “Finding the Silver Lining in Unemployment,” with Rita Losee; March 10, “Current Educational Choices,” with Margaret Park; March 17, “Portfolios 101,” with Cher Tyra; March 24, open forum, bring your job search difficulties and questions; March 31, “Adult Learning Styles,” Margaret Degon.
Registration is not required for the Unemployed Professionals Group.
To help job seekers prepare for the spring job fairs, the CareerCenter will host a How to Prepare for a Job Fair and Resume Basics workshop on March 10 and March 24 from 1-3:30 p.m. Registration is required. Call 753-9005 to register.
A job club meets at the CareerCenter every Monday from 10 a.m.-noon. Topics vary weekly, but focus on job search strategy and skills, networking and information sharing. Registration is not required for the Job Club.
Other workshops offered at the CareerCenter include: Job Search Skills; Career Decision Making; On-Line Applications, Interviewing Skills, and Writing a Resume. Please call 753-9005 to register for these workshops and to get additional information.
