AUGUSTA (AP) – Heating oil prices continue to go up in Maine as the price of crude oil rises.

According to the weekly survey of the state Office of Energy Independence and Security, the statewide cash price for heating oil averaged $3.37 a gallon on Monday. That’s 9 cents higher than a week ago and $1.02 higher than a year ago.

The survey said the lowest prices were in southern Maine, with the highest prices in eastern sections.

The statewide kerosene price also rose 9 cents in the past week, to $3.78 a gallon.
