BRIDGTON – The Bridgton Art Guild will host a Maine Crafts Association informational workshop at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at Gallery 302, 112 Main St. Snow date is Thursday, March 20.
The association promotes education, understanding and appreciation of the work of Maine craft artists and their importance in Maine’s economy and distinctive communities. The association increases communication between artisans and sponsors programs that will assist them.
“Craft” is inclusive of professional artists, including painters, photographers and fine craft artists/artisans.
Meeting topics will include a new Center for Maine Craft, a new associate degree in traditional and contemporary craft, wholesale and retail marketing programs, grants and loans to artists/artisans and a partnership for local initiatives.
In addition, those attending will learn about the opportunities to exhibit at Gallery 302, a cooperative with more than 60 artists and artisans exhibiting. All work displayed at the gallery is original. For more information about exhibiting opportunities and/or the workshop, call Ernie at 647-4349.
