Sunday service
PARIS – Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road, South Paris, will celebrate the fourth Sunday in Lent on March 3. Sunday school for the young and Making the Old Story Our Story for adults will start at 9 a.m. The service will start at 10:15, followed by coffee, refreshments and fellowship. All are welcome.
Boiled dinner
NORWAY – A classic New England boiled dinner will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 7, at Second Congregational Church, Main Street. The public is invited. Proceeds will benefit the church’s general fund.
The cost will be $8 for adults and $4 for children under age 10. On the menu will be corned beef, cabbage, onions, beets, potatoes, carrots, homemade rolls, homemade pies, coffee and juice.
The church is a member of the United Church of Christ. Worship and church school is held at 10 a.m. Sundays. For more information, call the church office between 9 a.m. and noon Monday through Thursday at 743-2290.
Tree sales
PARIS – The Oxford County Soil and Water Conservation District is selling trees and shrubs. Those interested can stop by the office and pick up a brochure or call Heidi at 743-5789, ext. 101.
Orders will be taken until Thursday, March 20, and pick-up date will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, April, 25, at the Oxford County Fairgrounds.
The district also has pond trout for sale. Order forms and stocking permits are available at the office.
The last day to order trout will be May 12. The trout will be delivered at the office at noon Thursday, May 15.
Society speaker
GREENWOOD – The Greenwood Historical Society will meet at its building on Main Street at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 5. Blaine Mills will present a program on “Manufacturing in Locke Mills.” It is the program that was postponed last month due to the weather.
