LEWISTON – Isabelle R. Madore, 97, a resident of 218 Old Lisbon Road, Lewiston, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, unexpectedly at Marshwood Health Care Facility & Rehabilitation.
She was born in Frenchville, June 5, 1910, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Marquis) Roy.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, especially mittens and scarves for needy children. She also knitted caps for cancer patients in local hospitals.
She also loved berry picking, especially raspberries, blueberries and strawberries at Finemore Farm in Bowdoin.
Much caring and love was always the priority of her when it came to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include six daughters, Jeanne and Fern Corriveau of Florida, Lenora Pleau of Lewiston, Lucy and Eloi Gervais of Lewiston, Claudette Comeau of Connecticut, Therese and Richard Obie and Geneva and Gerard Roy, all of Lewiston; five sons, Percy and Eva Madore of Connecticut, Clarence and Jennette Madore of South Carolina, Richard Madore of Sabattus, Hubert and Clara Madore of Massachusetts, and Ronald and Jane Madore of Lewiston; one sister, Regina Saucier of Lewiston; two sisters-in-law, Irene and George Cloutier of Lewiston and Marie Roy of New York; 41 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; and many, many great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alcime Madore, July 8, 1983; one daughter, Rilda Stevens; three sons-in-law; one daughter-in-law; and four grandchildren.
