BILLERICA, Mass. – James R. Ashby, 63, of Billerica, Mass., passed away suddenly, early Feb. 26.

He was born Jan. 12, 1945, the son of the late Alice and Edward Ashby. He graduated from Mechanic Falls High School in 1963.

He was a Navy veteran who served his country in Vietnam. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 150 in Mechanic Falls.

He his survived by his brothers, Howard Ashby of Auburn and Steven Ashby of Warren; his son, Craig Ashby of Rhode Island; his daughter, Pamela Ashby of Mechanic Falls; his grandchildren, Trevor Saunders and Connor Ashby; and his longtime loving partner, Pamela Andella.
