ORONO – Courtney Pilypaitis scored 21 points Wednesday night and led Vermont to its 20th victory of the women’s basketball season, 74-52, over the University of Maine.

Amy Rosenkrantz added 15 points for the Catamounts (20-7, 11-3 America East).

May Kotsopoulos chalked up 14 points and seven assists. Sy Janousek scored 11 points.

Maine (7-20, 4-10) committed 28 turnovers while allowing Vermont to connect at 58 percent from the field.

Amanda Tewksbury led the Black Bears with 13 points. Colleen Kilmurray chipped in 11.

Mt. Blue graduate Christina Mosher started the game for Maine and finished with two points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Maine outrebounded Vermont by a 35-20 margin.
