LEWISTON – Colleen V. Barry, 75, of Bragdon Hill Road in Poland, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, with family at her side after many years of illness.
She was born in Lewiston, Oct. 4, 1932, a daughter of Leonard and Winifred (Francis) Fish. She was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community.
On Oct. 14, 1950, she was married in Auburn to Robert Barry. After her marriage to Bob, she worked as a homemaker as she and her husband raised their family. Among her favorite enjoyments in her free time were going for long rides and camping at Moosehead Lake.
She loved spending good times with her family, children and grandchildren and animals, as she enjoyed, for many years, the company of several family cats and dogs. She will be dearly missed by all her family.
She leaves her husband of 57 years, Robert Barry of Poland; five children, Marlene Barrows and husband, Kenneth, of Poland, Robert Barry and wife, Nancy, of Greene, Daniel Barry and wife, Amanda, of Turner, Mark Barry of Auburn and Glen Barry and wife, Kelly, of Auburn; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a granddaughter; Jennifer Lynn Barry; two sisters, Dorothy Grondin and Helen Gould; two brothers, Leo and Leonard Fish; and her parents.
