This is in response to Paul Lowell’s letter, Feb. 21, that blames legal drugs and gun-free zones for shootings at schools and on campuses. He is right on track with that.
That is what happens when you let public officials raise children using public money with all the programs that take parenting away from parents and give it to a broken, overburdened system of 1960s social experimentation. It’s a take-a-pill-for-everything society, Or make a new law when all other laws fail.
The government has all those social programs up and running, supposedly to help people out. But parents are so busy working, paying taxes to run those programs, they don’t get home until late. The children are being raised by the public, and that is the reason all those programs are needed.
So, let’s just end all the tax money spent on those 1960s social programs. They were just an experiment, anyway. Then moms can stay home and raise those children, and talk and read to them, and the whole problem is fixed.
