LISBON – Joseph Leo McGraw, 87, a resident of Lisbon, died Thursday, Feb. 28, at his home.
He was born on Nov. 26, 1920, in Livermore Falls, the son of Marshall and Ida (Therrien) McGraw. He was a lumberman and had also worked for the Otis Mill in Jay. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay before moving to Lisbon in 1960. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed working in the woods and was also a handyman. He had worked for Marcel Doyon Real Estate for 40 years, doing yard work and even after retirement, he had continued to work. He also helped Faye Brown with the landscaping for the local gazebo.
He is survived by a sister, Arlene Martin of Lisbon; three nieces, Linda Chaisson of Lewiston, Ann Spengruther of Lisbon Falls and Carol Paradis of Lisbon; a nephew, Gerald Martin of Lisbon; three great-nieces, Renee Paradis, Christina Foster and Cindy Gagnon; three great-great-nieces; and one great-great-nephew.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Luigi, Roland and Roger McGraw; and two sisters, Loretta Bureau and Dorena Pomerleau.
