FARMINGTON – A surprise party was held recently for Randall and Audrey Gifford of Farmington, on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary. The event was held at the Village Inn at Belgrade Lakes and was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Torrey, Mr. and Mrs. John Gifford and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Gifford, children of the couple.
The tables were decorated with flower arrangements and place cards with the wedding picture of the couple on them. Giving the toast was Donna Torrey.
Mr. Gifford and the former Audrey Carolyn Main were married Sept. 13, 1947, at Central Baptist Church in Westerly, R.I.
They have four children, Donna Torrey, Arland L. Gifford, Roger R. Gifford and John C. Gifford. They also have 14 grandchildren, Jewellyn Baker, Ryan Porter, Meri Williamson, Tyson Gifford, Tim Gifford, Gwynne Tounge, Elisabeth Gifford, Kelly Gifford, Shana Gifford, Staci Gifford, Shelby Gifford, J.C. Gifford, Lindsay Gifford and Samantha Gifford.
Mrs. Gifford is owner of Gifford’s Dairy Inc. and Gifford’s Ice Cream in Farmington and Skowhegan. She is a member of Union Baptist Church in Farmington Falls. She enjoys reading and playing card games and doing things with her family.
Mr. Gifford is owner of Gifford’s Dairy Inc. and Gifford’s Ice cream in Farmington and Skowhegan. He is a member of the Masons, Scottish Rites and Kora Temple Shrine. He is a member of Union Baptist Church in Farmington Falls. He is an avid bass fisherman and enjoys watching the grandchildren play sports.
Both enjoy their winters in Florida and traveling. They were college sweethearts at the University of Connecticut. The couple has four grandchildren involved in the family business.
