AUBURN – Paul A. Dubois, 66, of Auburn, passed away early Thursday, Feb. 28, in the comfortable surroundings of his home with his family at his side.

He was born in Lewiston, Aug. 14, 1941, a son of Rosario and Yvonne (Marcotte) Dubois. He was educated at St. Peter’s School, graduated from St. Dom’s in 1959, and remained a lifelong resident of this community.

He was a veteran of the military having served his country in the Army until his honorable discharge. On July 4, 1966, he married the former Suzanne Beaudette. He worked in furniture retail all his life as he was co-owner and vice president of FX Marcotte Furniture. He retired in July 2006.

He was a member of Holy Cross church, president and longtime member of Androscoggin County Fish & Game Association, was a member and past president of the Auburn Exchange Club, and was director and past president of the Auburn Sno-Groomers Snowmobile Club.

He was a true family man in every way, as family life was extremely important to him. He was also a very avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and all aspects of sharpshooting. For several years, representing the fish and game association, he was very instrumental in firearms training for local and county law enforcement and helped develop and bring about many positive changes and improvements to the Androscoggin County Fish & Game Association.

He leaves his wife of 41 years, Suzanne Dubois of Auburn; two sons, Denis A. Dubois and David G. Dubois and wife, Trena, both of Auburn; a daughter, Danielle Y. Hinkley, and husband, Corey, of Turner; five grandchildren, Jessica and Ashley Hinkley and Brian, Jacob and Tylor Dubois; three sisters, Yolande Chouinard and husband, Lou, of Mount Savage, Md., and Marthe and Denise Dubois, both of Lewiston; a brother, Maurice Dubois and wife, Loraine, of Lewiston; several nieces and nephews; and three sisters-in-law, Therese Beaudette of Auburn, Eileen Dubois of Connecticut, and Marie Ruggerio and husband, Tom, of Breman.

He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, John (Jean) and Norm Dubois; and a sister, Jackie (Richard) Gallagher.
