FARMINGTON – Police obtained an arrest warrant Friday for a suspect in the robbery of a TD Banknorth branch in December, Police Chief Richard Caton III said.
A warrant has been issued for Kevin E. Lunn, 38, whose address is unknown, Caton said, but who was last seen in the Bath/Brunswick area.
As of Saturday, Lunn had not been arrested. If he’s not apprehended by Monday morning, Caton said, the department will contact the Maine Violent Crime Task Force, which has a network of federal and state officers who work to apprehend suspects involved in violent crimes.
In the weeks following the Dec. 12 robbery of the bank, Farmington police investigated leads from several sources and followed up with interviews that provided enough information to prove probable cause and obtain the warrant, police said.
Caton said Lunn has lived in several parts of the state, and statewide media coverage of the robbery produced several leads that proved helpful.
An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the bank, located on the corner of Main and Broadway in Farmington.
The suspect apparently handed the teller a note indicating he had a firearm and to give him money, Caton said at the time.
Bank surveillance cameras captured photos of the suspect that led people to call identifying Lunn, he said.
