Lewiston – Mary A. Kinney, 90, of 17 Booker St. in Lisbon Falls died Sunday March 2, at St. Mary’s Hospital with her loving family by her side after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

She was born in Lisbon Falls, April 16, 1917, the daughter of Paul and Mary Fabian Elcik, Sr. She was educated in Lisbon Schools and graduated from Lisbon Falls High School in the class of 1935.

Upon graduation, she was employed for several years at the first local Ben Franklin store in Lisbon Falls. She was later employed for 14 years by the former Worumbo Mill and J.P. Stevens as an office clerk until her retirement in 1964 due to ill health. She was a member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Church and belonged to the Rosary Society. She was also a Charter member of the Daughters of Isabella.

She married Joseph A. Kinney from Belgrade in November of 1937. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1987. Joseph died June 12, 1989.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Sandra D. Eck of Lisbon Falls, and her loving son, Richard A. and his wife, Margaret Kinney, of Gray and Ft. Myers, Fla. She also leaves behind her 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, and her brother, Paul J. Elcik, Jr. of Lisbon Falls.
