WILTON – Two community fundraisers will be held this weekend at the Wilton Congregational Church on Main Street.

A public supper to support a community heating oil fund will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday. The fund was established by area churches to assist families with heating oil bills this winter.

Admission is by donation in any amount and all donations will go to the fund.

The menu includes homemade casseroles, salads and desserts. A representative of the heating oil fund will explain how it works and how people may apply for it.

A concert will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the church to raise money for the Wilton Food Pantry. The concert will feature youth music groups including the Franklin County Fiddlers, Mt. Blue Voices, and the Middle School Show Choir.

Admission is by donation to this event also.

Donations will be matched by an equal amount through a grant to the Wilton Food Pantry, which has experienced an increased demand for services this winter. Both events are open to the public.

“These two community services have been well-supported in the past.

}The winter weather has forced the rescheduling of both events so that they are being held on the same weekend.

“We hope that people will come out to support these two very good causes, and enjoy good food and good music in the process,” Pastor Doug Dunlap said.
