RUMFORD – The River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition and its Spring Fitness Program Committee are offering an eight-week self-tracking program that encourages families, individuals and worksites teams to exercise 30 to 45 minutes at least three to five days a week.
Participants must register by March 9, track their minutes of activity on the sheets provided and turn them in at the end of the eight weeks to be eligible to win prizes.
Families can team up and do the physical activities they love or try something new. The other three event nights, besides the kick-off at Black Mountain from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 9, are roller-skating night at the Mexico Recreation Center from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.; nature walks at Hosmer Field Complex or Davis Park in Bethel; and bowling night at Oxford Lanes from 4 to 6 p.m., all free for families in the program.
The first 100 kids who sign up with an adult family member will be given a free water bottle that they can personalize.
