WATERBURY, Conn. – Kathryn (Bennett) Lawson, 81, of Waterbury, Conn., peacefully passed away at home on March 3, with her family at her side.
She was born in Buckfield, the daughter of the late Paul and Blanche (Buck) Bennett.
She graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in home economics. After starting her family of four girls, she began substitute teaching. She then finished her career at Wolcott High School from 1963 to 1987, and had many students who remember her fondly. Kay enjoyed her retirement years with friends and family in Florida, Connecticut, and Maine. A truly creative person, she loved reading, crossword puzzles, Scrabble, tag sales, sewing, music, cooking and entertaining.
She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Lawson and husband, Robert, Nancy Bevans and husband, John and Barbara Stanco and husband, Al; grandsons, Tyler and Dylan Stanco; brother, Roland Bennett; and many loving sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Ruth Lawson; sister, Marge Ruegg; and brothers, Stanley, Gerry, Mason and Paul Bennett.
