Club speaker
AUBURN – The Auburn-Lewiston Art and Literature Club will meet at 2 p.m. Monday, March 10, at the Woman’s Literary Union clubhouse, Elm Street.
The speaker will be Sulochana Dissanayake, a junior at Bates College. She will speak about her life and education in Sri Lanka before coming to Maine.
Tea will follow the meeting. The hostesses will be Sheila Laurendeau, Marguerite Powers and Shirley Small.
Fair rescheduled
LEWISTON – United Way of Androscoggin County and the TOPS program will sponsor the rescheduled TOPS camp fair from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at the Lewiston Multi-Purpose Center. The camp fair is free and open to the public.

Support speaker
LEWISTON – The MS support group and caregivers will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at the Lepage Conference Center, 99 Campus Ave.
Since the February meeting was canceled, Connie Adams and Barry Linden, representatives from Ryde-Away, a company that provides special equipment for cars so disabled people can drive, will be speakers this month.

Retired educators
AUBURN – The Androscoggin Retired Educators’ Association will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, at St. Philips Church, Route 4.
The morning speaker will be Catherine Sullivan, who will discuss benefits trust. After lunch, Sarah Anderson of Elder Law Services will share information.
Lunch will be beef stew with homemade biscuits, salad and homemade pies prepared by women of the church. The cost of lunch is $8. Make reservations and send check made out to AREA on or before Monday, March 10, to Hugh Keene, 179 Cook St, Auburn, ME 04210.
Cooking class
LEWISTON – Jennifer Williams, RD, will cook simple healthy dishes that are perfect for one or two people from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 12. The class will be held at the Nutrition Center of Maine, corner of Bates and Walnut streets
While taste-testing, participants will learn about whole grains, healthy fats and how to choose healthy alternatives at the grocery store. Recipes of prepared dishes will be available to take home. Call 753-5466 for more information or to register.
WLU program
AUBURN – The Woman’s Literary Union will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at the clubhouse, 19 Elm St. Brian Flynn Jr. will entertain with his repertoire of original music, either on the grand piano or his keyboard. Refreshments will be available and the meetings are open to the public.
Nurses to meet
LEWISTON – The Central Maine General Hospital-Central Maine Medical Center School of Nursing Alumni Association will hold a business meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at the School of Nursing, 70 Middle St.

Bridge results
LEWISTON – The Lewiston- Auburn Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on March 4 were: first, Martine Begert and Jeanine Kivus; second, David Lock and Luke Merry; third, Mary Leahey and Sue Kaluzynski.
Winners at Schooner Estates in Auburn on March 5 were: first, Paul Barber and Luke Merry; second/third/fourth tie, Martine Begert and Claire Lyons, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock and Les Buzzell and John Hackett.
Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays and 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays, and a partner is guaranteed.
