AUBURN – Dwine P. Ray Jr., 69, of Sabattus, died on March 5, at the Hospice House.

He was born on June 30, 1938, in Lewiston, the son of Dwine P. Sr. and Virginia O. (Drake) Ray.

He worked for many years in the building and trades industry and was a member of Local 327. He was a member of the First Assembly of God church in Lewiston. He enjoyed fishing, boating, hiking, horseback riding, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rita; sons, John and his wife, Chriss and Jessie and his wife, Josslyn; daughters, Kathy and Heather; eight grandchildren, Trisha, Traci Alden, Jonathan, Andew, Samantha Ray, Hannah McWilliams, Veydeh Ray, baby boy Ray; brothers, Robert and his wife, Judy, of Nevada, and Allen and his wife, Sue, of Lewiston; sisters, Shirley Noyes of Mechanic Falls, Barbara and husband, Robert Berry, of Mechanic Falls, Jean and husband, Peter Davis, of Rhode Island, Arlene and husband, Bob Pelchart, of Georgia, Linda and husband, Paul Terstegen, of Lisbon, Sandra and husband, Richard Flewelling, of Fairfield Center, Susan and husband, Donald Daigle, of South Carolina, and Kathy and husband, John Bergeron, of Auburn; special friends, Pauline Apt and Norma and Fred Robinson.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Dwine’s family would like to express a special thanks to the Hospice team, Hospice House, Dr. Austin, Dr. Skeik, Rev. Cougle, and all the family and friends who supported them.
