LEWISTON – Barbara Moran has been appointed assistant vice president at Bigelow Investment Advisors, LLC, of Portland, a financial consulting firm that specializes in advising individuals, businesses and non-profits.

A resident and native of Lewiston, Moran is a 1980 graduate of Lewiston High School, and received her associate’s degree in business administration from Central Maine Community College in 2002.

Moran has also served as a volunteer at St. Joseph’s School and church and St. Dominic Regional High School. She has more than eight years of experience servicing investment clients, including individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations.

Before joining Bigelow, she was an investment specialist with TD Banknorth wealth management.

YPLAA offers career seminars

LEWISTON – Young People of the Lewiston-Auburn Area is offering the following seminars and workshops, held at the Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce, 179 Lisbon St., Lewiston, unless otherwise specified:

March 19, noon-1:30 p.m., YPLAA networking lunch, limited to 25 people, everyone gets two minutes to promote their business

Bring business cards and/or promotional materials to handout. Bring a lunch. Optional networking available from 1-1:30 pm. Registration required.

March 25, 9-10:30 a.m., seminar “Understanding Generational Differences in the Workplace.” This seminar will help attendees understand the differences among the generations in the workplace.

March 27, 5 p.m., YPLAA networking event at DaVinci’s Restaurant, 150 Mill St. A chance to network with other YPLAAers. Bring dry goods such as paper plates, napkins, plastic cutlery, diapers, toilet paper, zip lock bags, etc., to donate to Hope Haven Gospel Mission.

April 17, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., open discussion with a career and executive coach. Bring any career related questions, from issues with organizational development and human resources to questions on career advancement.
