NORWAY – Evamaria Paulsen, 76, of South Paris died Wednesday, March 5, at Stephens Memorial Hospital after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Germany and immigrated to the United States in the late 1950s. She married Hans Paulsen in 1980. They moved to Maine shortly after they married and made it their home.
Eva loved living in Maine and learned how to play golf. She loved to travel, was an accomplished artist in watercolors and was a member of the Spinning and Knitting Club.
She is survived by her mother, Gertrude Witt; several nieces and nephews from Germany; her stepdaughter and son-in-law, Gesina (Ineke) and Brian Brooks; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Hans C. and Mitziila Paulsen, Richard A. and Linda Paulsen; grandchildren, Christopher, Sarah and William Brooks, Hans A. and Christopher Paulsen; and stepgrandsons, Keegan and Caleb Caraway.
She was predeceased by her husband in April 2007.
